5-year-old dies, 3 injured in road mishap

A five-year-old girl died while three members of her family sustained severe injuries after their bike was hit by a speeding bus of RGPV College at Lalghati under Koh-e-Fiza police station area in the morning on Thursday.

The mother, uncle and the  cousin of the deceased girl were injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

The locals damaged the bus and assaulted the driver and later he was detained by Koh-e-Fiza police. Police said that four persons including one woman and a girl were injured after their bike was hit by speeding bus of RGPV.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where five-year-old Sana was declared dead while her mother Rani, cousin Shadab and uncle Siraj were admitted in Tripti hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured is reportedly stable.

The four were on their way to DIG Bungalow area when their bike was hit by bus bearing registration number MP04PA2531.

At the time of the incident only driver was present in the bus and was on its way to pick students. The deceased sustained head injuries which proved fatal for her.

The accused driver identified as Farman tried to escape the spot but was caught by the locals and handed over to police.

The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC. The bus hit the bike from behind and was speeding at high speed.

The uncle of deceased Siraj was scheduled to go for work after dropping his sister Rani and her daughter Sana at DIG Bungalow at the four stayed on Wednesday night after a family function in Bakania Bhori.
