FALL RIVER — Eileen M. Danahey, president and CEO of St. Anne’s Credit Union, along with its Board of Directors, announced the appointment of Richard Kane to the newly created position of vice president, commercial risk.
In this role, Kane will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and leadership of the commercial risk function, to help grow St. Anne’s commercial banking business while ensuring that the portfolio continues to meet the Credit Union’s high credit standards, including developing risk control products and services that align with St. Anne’s underwriting tactics for various product lines and customer segments. Kane will play an instrumental role in building a comprehensive risk management process.
Kane brings with him nearly 20 years of financial experience, most recently working as first vice president, commercial lending at Rockland Trust, the largest publicly traded commercial bank headquartered in Massachusetts, with more than $8 billion in assets and 85 branches. In this role, he was responsible for commercial lending and overall loan portfolio management in Falmouth and Martha’s Vineyard. Prior to this position, he served on the senior management team for several other financial institutions in New England in various roles. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Kane obtained his bachelor's degree in economics from Ithaca College, is a graduate of the Prochnow Institute Graduate School of Banking at University of Wisconsin and has also obtained RMA’s Credit Risk Certification (CRC).
