Baker Hughes reports second straight in weekly rise in U.S. oil-rig count

Baker Hughes on Friday reported that the number of active U.S. rigs drilling for oil climbed by 7 to 815 this week. The oil-rig count had increased by 11 last week. The total active U.S. rig count, which includes oil and natural-gas rigs, rose by 5 to 1,008, according to Baker Hughes. May West Texas Intermediate crude was up 34 cents, or 0.5%, from Thursday, to $67.41 a barrel, little changed from before the rig data.
