Mystery Melbourne

It's time for today's Mystery Melbourne.

You might look at this photo and think that it’s from somewhere in the United States - Melbourne in Florida, perhaps? Would I pull that same trick twice?

But I can assure you that this photo was indeed taken within Melbourne’s city limits. Let me know if you’ve worked out where. I’ll post the answer at 9am.

Frank from Frankston now in Fiji

Regular readers of the blog will know that for the past couple of years, Frank from the Frankston line would often be the first to provide an update on a delay, cancellation or disruption in the area.

I hadn't heard from him for about for about nine months, so assumed he had taken to driving into work instead. But it turns out Frank from the Frankston line is now Frank from Fiji.

"We have moved to Fiji earlier this year. No trains or trams here. Not even a proper traffic jam," he writes. "I wish all Melburnians a happy Friday the 13th and a great weekend."

Fiji. Lucky Frank.

Man sexually assaults woman at tram stop

Police are appealing for public help to find a man who sexually assaulted a woman at a busy city tram stop.

They said the man grabbed the woman's bottom as she exited a tram at the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets about 9.15am on Friday, February 23.

When the woman turned around to confront the man, he told her to "hurry up".

Police have released a composite image of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
