Cyber crime cell has nabbed two employees of share trading company for stealing data of the company and sharing it with other company.
A complaint was lodged by manager of Compliance, Secretarial and Legal departments of the IDBI Capital markets and securities Ltd, Mumbai with the cyber cell that one of their clients has complaint over their twitter handle regarding the theft of their data and providing the data to other company.
The issue came to fore after one of the clients of IDBI Capital markets and securities Ltd Vivek Singh posted his grievance on March 8 stating that his data related to his Demat account has been shared without his information and has got a call from IIFL executives regarding Demat details.
A complaint was lodged as the culprits were damaging the image of the company and would harm financial gains of the company by the act of stealing the data.
Based on the complaint during the investigation the ex-employees of IDBI Capital markets and securities ltd were investigated and it was found that two of the employees have joined other share trading company IIFL.
The two were questioned during which they confessed stealing the data from IDBI Capital markets and securities ltd while working with the firm.
The nabbed accused persons were identified as Yogendra Singh and Navneet Singh. Yogendra was working as Relation Manager and Navneet was working as Assistant Vice President.
The two used to share the details of the inactive clients which means those clients who do not trade or have stop investing in any of the financial instruments. The data was shared to achieve their targets.
