Can CSK draw crowds at new ‘home’?

With India not short on ICC-accredited venues, the BCCI, IPL GC and Chennai Super Kings had a number of options, but it was Pune which got the nod for its six remaining ‘home’ matches.

Incidentally, the Maharashtra International Stadium at Gahunje Village — almost 30 kms from the heart of the city — will also host two playoff games before the final in Mumbai.

Inspection today

The CSK and IMG officials are likely to visit the Gahunje Village on Thursday.

It’s to be seen though, if Super Kings, with Pune player Kedar Jadhav ruled out of this season’s IPL, would draw crowds.
