Manamohan Memorial Cricket Centre is set to organise the Manamohan Memorial Inter-province U-16 National Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium from April 26 to May 2.
Boys teams from all seven provinces will compete in the league-cum-knockout tournament which will be played for 30-over-a-side, informed MMCC President Thakur Gaire at a press meet today. Gaire said the provincial teams would be formed through talent hunt programmes slated for April 19-20.
The talent hunt programmes will be held in Biratnagar of Province No 1, Birgunj of Province No 2, Kathmandu of Province No 3, Pokhara of Province No 4, Bhairahawa of Province No 5, Surkhet of Province No 6 and Dhangadhi of Province No 7.
The winners will get Rs 500,000, which will include Rs 250,000 in cash and cricket kits worth Rs 250,000.
Similarly, runners-up will take home Rs 250,000, including 125,000 in cash and cricket kits worth Rs 125,000, while the best players will also get cash rewards.
According to Gaire, MMCC will also honour one each male and female cricketer and a coach with Manamohan National Cricket Award 2074. The estimated budget of the event is six million rupees.
