Bhuseva pilot projectlaunched

Lands across the State will be assigned 11-digit Bhudhaar numbers on the lines of Aadhaar

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday launched the Bhuseva project, under which government and private lands across the State will be assigned 11-digit Bhudhaar numbers on the lines of Aadhaar in a two-step process.

It is a pilot project that will be implemented in Vuyyur and Jaggaiahpet in Krishna district and is likely to be extended to other districts by October 2. The ultimate goal is to give Bhudhaar numbers to 2.84 crore agricultural lands and 50 lakh urban and 85 lakh rural properties.

Mr. Naidu said the Bhudhaar numbers could not be tampered with and any land-related transaction could be monitored on a real-time basis. The lands would be geo-tagged and 11-digit temporary Bhudhaar numbers starting with 99 would be given.

The 11-digit permanent numbers starting with 28 (A.P.’s census code) would be assigned after the physical attributes and records available with the Revenue, Registration and Stamps, Survey, Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj and Forest departments are cross-checked.

Farmers can get mutations done online automatically, which saves time and money, and all the electronic records would be aligned with the information contained in the field measurement books.

‘Major initiative’

Mr. Naidu said this was a major initiative aimed at establishing a fool-proof database of lands which makes land administration a lot easier, and makes the transactions simpler and takes the technology adoption to a higher level as the State looked to improve efficiencies across the board
