Police nab 3 IPL gamblers

Bagh Sewania police have nabbed three gamblers from Shiv Shakti Nagar accepting bets on the ongoing IPL T20 cricket matches late on Tuesday night.

The police recovered 24 mobile phones, one laptop, one TV set, two line machines for connecting multiple mobile phones worth Rs 3 lakh and records of betting transactions worth Rs 8.56 lakh were found.

Police said that acting on a tip off regarding betting on the ongoing IPC T20 cricket matches in Shakti Nagar a joint police team of Ashoka Garden and Bagh Sewania police rushed to the spot and nabbed three persons involved in betting.

The nabbed accused persons were identified as Prakash Chanchlani, Pradeep Lalwani and Rohit Prajapati. Accused confessed that they work for Rajaram Sharma and Jayanti Mama. All the accused have been booked earlier for gambling and betting by different police stations.

Prakash has been booked by TT Nagar and Khajuri police for gambling. Pradeep works for Rajaram Sharma and has been booked by MP Nagar and Kolar police for betting on IPL matches. The third accused works as computer mechanic and used to work as operator in the nexus.

Police have registered a case under section 4 of the IPC and section 66 of IT Act has been registered.

The line machine which is a device to connect multiple mobile phones and communicate with multiple people was used to operate multiple mobile phones and from the spot 24 mobile phones were seized. The call detail of the mobile phones would be investigated.

Based on the details of the three accused regarding the main accused search for Rajaram Sharma and Jayanti Mams has been started.
