Kamara signs 3-year extension with Galaxy

Forward Ola Kamara has inked a three-year extension with the Los Angeles Galaxy, the team announced on Wednesday.

Kamara, who came to the Galaxy in an offseason trade with the Columbus Crew SC, has been an instant fit with his new team. He scored in the Galaxy's 2-1 season-opening win over the Portland Timbers and has started and played all 90 minutes in four games with the club this season, with Los Angeles drawing with Vancouver in the one game Kamara didn't play .

The 28-year-old from Norway had the third-most goals (34) in the MLS over the past two seasons.

We are excited that Ola will remain with the LA Galaxy in the coming years," LA Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid said, per the team's statement. "He has proven himself to be one of the most productive forwards in MLS over the past two seasons and we are confident that will continue as a member of our club. We look forward to him being a focal point in our offense."

The Galaxy have opened the season 2-2-1 and recently added international superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic through next season.
