BRISTOL, R.I. —The First Congregational Church Silent Film Series presents Saturday Night at the Movies: The Silent Clowns this Saturday.
Saturday Night at the Movies: The Silent Clowns will feature two Buster Keaton masterpieces: "One Week," a short comedy, and the feature, "Sherlock, Jr." These two films are considered to be two of Keaton’s greatest works.
Keaton is considered by many to be the ultimate silent film comedy star. His physical comedy is unmatched by any other silent film actor. Keaton performed the majority of his own stunts and was considered a master by his contemporaries and modern critics alike.
Jim Morgan will provide the live soundtrack to these films using two digital keyboard instruments. His music will make the films come alive. Morgan has accompanied silent films at First Congregational Church to audience acclaim.
"Saturday Night at the Movies: The Silent Clowns offers wholesome, side-splitting entertainment for the whole family," said the organizers of the event.
Saturday Night at the Movies will be held Saturday, April 14, 7 p.m. in the DeWolf Room, First Congregational Church, 300 High St., Bristol, RI. Tickets will be sold at the door; Adults: $10, Seniors: $7.50, Kids: $5
