Armed cops were scrambled after a group of unruly animals blocked off a busy road.

Officers had to muster all of their experience at dealing with lawless kids to get the A548 at Deeside Industrial Estate clear - after it was taken over by a group of goats.

The Cheshire and North Wales Police Alliance Armed Policing Unit worked on the hoof to get the animals banged up back where they belonged.

Guns did not have to be drawn as the herd complied with the orders of officers on the scene, but they did not appear pleased that their bid for freedom had been short lived.

In a post on Twitter this morning, the unit said: “Assisted with getting a herd of goats back into a field by Deeside Industrial estate after they had escaped onto the A548!

“Judging by their faces I don’t think they were too happy getting caught... #notjustguns”
