Autorickshaw driver found murdered in Bengaluru

A 30-year-old autorickshaw driver was murdered, allegedly by his friends, near Sunkadakatte bridge in Kamakshipalya on Thursday morning.

The deceased, Koteshwara Rao, was a resident of Kengeri and worked night shifts. According to the police, he got into a fight with other autorickshaw drivers over picking up passengers. When he was returning home in the early hours of Thursday, he was attacked by unidentified persons, taken to an isolated location and bludgeoned to death with iron rods.

“Our initial probe has revealed that the assailants were angry with Rao for robbing them of their business and ferrying their regular customers. We have clues about their identity and efforts are on to nab them,” a police officer said.
