Man electrocuted in Bokaro Thermal colony

In a shocking incident, a 46-year-old man was electrocuted to death when he touched a water motor to repair it at his house in Vijay colony, Phase-II, Bokaro Thermal, the police said on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Bali Ram Munda an employee of CCL, Govindpur project, Nisanhut, Bokaro Thermal and residing with his family member at CCL quarter, according to police sources, the incident took place on Tuesday night when Bali Ram Munda was working on his water electrical motor with its motor being connected with the help of an extension live wire.

It was Munda's family members who found him lying unconscious.His relatives rushed him to the DVC hospital where doctors declared him dead and the authorities informed the local police station.

A team of Bokaro thermal PS was sent to Munda’s house and a thorough inspection was conducted.

His body has been sent for post-mortem examination and the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained. A written information has been received and case registered in connection with the incident so far, said Inspector cum officer-in charge Prameshwar Liyangi. From preliminary investigation it appeared to be a case of electrocution but at this point, it cannot be said that the motor caused the death.

It is also possible that Munda came in contact with live wire, leading to the electrocution, the matter is being investigated, Leyangi added.
