Top leaders of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha have pitched for seeking support for party candidates fielded for Ranchi Municipal Corporation’s two coveted posts. JVM supremo Babulal Marandi alongwith party principal general secretary Pradeep Yadav on Wednesday held a rally to denounce the present functioning of the corporation.
The leaders mainly focused on infighting existed between the outgoing Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the form of Asha Lakha and Sanjiv Vijayvargiya, who have been named again this time by the BJP.
“The BJP is working with attitude and pressing for failed candidates who did nothing but denouncing each other during their entire tenure in the RMC. In fact the fights were drama to befool the people and loot in between. RMC for the last so many years have reduced to mare a club of corruption while larger population of the city is devoid of even basic facilities. Now the time has come when you can choose right people and party at the right place,” said the first Chief Minister of the State.
Presenting both candidates of the party fielded for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the form of Shiva Kacchap and Uttam Yadav, the JVM supremo also referred to ‘misuse’ of power by the ruling party to win the battle. “The Chief Minister himself is going to hold meetings with party workers and participate in campaigning but camouflaging by keeping a formal official engagement prior to that. In this way he is misusing the Government machineries to influence voters. The Election Commission should have taken note of it,” said Marandi in his address.
Pradeep Yadav on the occasion reiterated some of the highlights of the agenda and manifesto released by the party few days ago and assured that all of the promises would be fulfilled. “We want to assure the residents of Ranchi that the party would make its men elected in the form of Mayor and Deputy Mayor to meet all the commitments made. There would be no game in the name of commission in the RMC. The party would also ensure that exorbitant taxes and penalties taken under different heads would be rationalised. There is no point taxing common man when they are getting nothing in return in the name of facilities,” said the legislator.
He went again rapping the Urban Development Department presently under Ranchi MLA and senior party leader CP Singh for the misgovernance prevailing into the Corporation. “They all are one in this organised loot and just speak against each other outside to confuse people. We would ensure that all the misdeeds of the incumbent office bearers into the RMC are probed in the days to come,” said the MLA.
