Newington College teacher charged for sharing child pornography
A teacher at a top Sydney private school has been refused bail after he was charged with sharing child pornography material and possessing child abuse material.
Reinier Jessurun, 52, a teacher at Newington College in Sydney's inner west, was arrested on Tuesday and appeared at Central Local Court where he was formally refused bail.

Photo: Google MapsThe Australian Federal Police, which searched premises in Edgecliff and Stanmore in relation to the case, is alleging that Mr Jessurun "used an online persona to share child exploitation images online".
A spokeswoman for Newington College said "the teacher was immediately stood down pending the outcome of court proceedings".
Mr Jessurun teaches at the College's Wyvern House, a Kindergarten to year 6 boys' school in Stanmore.
He also runs the school's Tournament of Minds club, a problem solving program.
Mr Jessurun has also previously taught at Scots College Preparatory School, Cranbrook Junior School, Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Mosman Church of England Preparatory School, Arkana College, as well as a number of international schools in Brunei, China, Qatar, Thailand and Germany, according to his online CV.
"Newington College can confirm it has been contacted by the Australian Federal Police in connection to an investigation into a teacher employed by the College," the College's spokeswoman said on Thursday.
"The AFP has assured the College there is nothing to indicate the material seized involved, or was distributed to, College students.
"The school has contacted parents, and offered any support necessary."
The spokeswoman said Newington College is cooperating with the AFP as investigations continue.
Mr Jessurun will appear in court again on June 6.
