Dharwad: The countdown for the fall of Congress government has begun, said BJP national president
Amit Shah. BJP is getting overwhelming response across the state and will show its result on May 16, he added.
Addressing a public gathering of over 40,000 people at
Hebballi village in
Dharwad taluk on Thursday evening, he said the people here have made up their mind to put an end to the misrule and maladministration of the Congress government and to support BJP to form the next government.
“During his state tour, AICC president Rahul Gandhi questioned the contribution of the Modi government to the state. I am here to give an account to the Congress,” he said.
“Under the 14th finance commission, the Modi government has doled out Rs 2.19 lakh crore under 116 central programmes. However, during the UPA government’s 10 year rule, the state had received Rs 88,503 crore under 13th finance commission,” said Shah.
“Fearing that if the Central schemes are implemented, people will back Modi and his party, Siddaramaiah ensured that these pro-people schemes never reached the people. I assure you that soon after the election results are announced and the
BJP government headed by B S
Yeddyurappa is in place, all the benefits of the Central schemes will start reaching the target groups,” Shah added.
Blaming the Congress for the spate of farmers’ suicides in the country, Shah claimed that in the states where BJP has come to power, the number of farmers’ suicide had come down considerably. In Maharashtra, the farmers’ suicide is down by 30%, he added.
“The new health scheme announced in the previous budget would ensure health benefits up to Rs five lakh per family. The support price has been increased by 1.5 times to facilitate farmers get remunerative price,” Shah said.
Referring to the series of murders in the state during the Congress regime, Shah said the government was shielding perpetrators of the crimes and once the BJP government is formed it will bring out the culprits and send them to jail.
State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa attacked Congress candidate and district in-charge minister Vinay Kulkarni and charged that the corrupt minister had unleashed a regime of terror and was responsible for the murder of ZP member Yogishgouda Goudar.
Yeddyurappa said the offenders will be dealt with firmly when BJP comes to power under his leadership.
