HARLINGEN — Windy conditions ahead of another cold front have prompted another small craft advisory for captains in the Laguna Madre.

The advisory remains in effect from this morning until 10 a.m. Friday.

Forecasters say an increasing difference between high pressure in the eastern gulf and a developing low pressure trough in the lee of the Sierra Madre will create hazardous south to southeast winds and bring choppy waters to the bay by late morning today.

Persistent high winds of 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 30 will continue through Friday morning.

The advisory for bay waters extends from the Port of Brownsville to five miles north of Port Mansfield.
