Johan Goosen back in Cheetahs No 10 jersey

2018-04-12 13:31

Bloemfontein - Springbok Johan Goosen has been named at flyhalf for the Cheetahs' PRO14 clash against Munster on Friday.

Goosen has not played rugby since he retired suddenly when he left French Top 14 club Racing 92 at the end of 2016.

He is off to Montpellier at the end of June, but on Saturday he will back at his old stomping ground at Free State Stadium.

With only two full rounds left the focus is now fully on making the PRO14 Final Series.

"We’ve now got three wins on a trot and would like to keep the momentum and focus completely on Munster," said coach Rory Duncan.

The two teams have met once before with Munster winning 51-18 in Limerick in round 2.

"We’ve grown tremendously as a team since the last time we played against Munster and we prepared for what lies ahead," said captain, Francois Venter.

Kick-off is at 19:35.
