Woodward County Emergency Management has issued a fire warning for parts of Woodward County due to wildfires in the area.

Here is the alert:

At 6:06 p.m., a wildfire was located four miles southeast of Woodward.

The fire was bounded by Highway 270, North-South 208, East-West 47 and Highway 34. The fire was moving rapidly to the north-northeast.

The evacuation route: people in the area should go to the south or west. Anybody unable to evacuate south or west can go to Faith United Methodist Church at 1400 Texas Avenue in Woodward.

The American Red Cross in Oklahoma has opened an evacuation center at the Faith Methodist Church at 1402 Texas Avenue in Woodward.

According to the Oklahoma Forestry Services Facebook page, an estimated 115,000 acres have burned just four miles northwest of Woodward.
