A 50-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle crashed into a tree on U.S. 17 in Seville, troopers said.
The driver was the only occupant of the Ford pickup that ran off the road and crashed into a tree at 2 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Ford was south on U.S. 17 in the area of Prevatt Road, when for unknown reasons the driver lost control, ran off the road and crashed head-on into a tree, said Lt. Kim Montes, a FHP spokeswoman.
The crash is under investigation and the driver's name is being withheld until his next of kin is notified, Montes said.
