2 policemen killed as PCR van hits divider

A PCR No 7 of Jaridih Police Station hit a road divider a few kilometres away from Jaridih Police Station, leaving two dead and two injured on Tuesday afternoon.

 The vehicle tossed in the air after hitting the divider and landed on the ground with a thud, said Rajesh Kujur Circle Inspector of Jaridih .

Police said that the PCR van was escorting the vehicles of Labour and Employment Minister Raj Pariwal, who was returning from Bokaro to Ranchi here on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place at 2 pm near J K hospital on National Highway No 33.

The deceased have been identified as sub inspector Umesh Kumar Singh and driver Pramod Kumar. The injured persons, Jagrup Singh and Aodhaya Singh belonging to UP were rushed to BGH hospital, Bokaro and the condition of two constables who sustained severe injuries in the accident was critical, said police.
