THANE: A head clerk with the municipal education department was on Wednesday arrested by the anti-corruption bureau for reportedly demanding and accepting a
bribe of Rs 5,000 for the renewal of school license.
The
ACB claimed that the proprietor of the Thane school approached the clerk,
Ashok Utekar, to renew his school license. Utekar, however, demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 to do the job.
The ACB laid a trap and arrested the accused red-handed. He has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
