Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is diverting from her previously planned schedule to join a retinue of other governors and congressional leaders to meet with President Donald Trump in Washington Thursday.

According to a media release from the governor’s office, Gov. Reynolds had originally been slated to attend a ribbon cutting in Muscatine on Thursday, and now Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg will attend in her stead. The meeting will be focused on “issues impacting the agricultural community, including trade,” according to the release, and will take place at 10 a.m. at the White House.

Likely on the docket will be the recent anxiety created by a brewing trade war with China, which has had cascading effects on the agriculture industry. Iowa’s Senators Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley, as well as Reynolds, have all expressed concern about the long term ramifications if this trade war continues.
