MADURAI

Unidentified persons blackened Hindi letters on the name board of Sholavandan railway station near here. Railway sources said the officials noticed it only on Wednesday evening.

The miscreants had used black paint to deface the name board. Besides, they had written ‘Cauvery, Cauvery’ in Tamil on the board.

The sources said some Tamil chauvinist group could be behind the incident to highlight its demand for immediate formation of the Cauvery Management Board.

Madurai has witnessed at least four rail roko incidents in the recent days in connection with the CMB issue.
