MIDLAND — Three people have been charged with partying in a Midland home while a child was present, police said.

According to a police report, officers went to the home of Alexis Dobritz, 20, at about 1:20 p.m. April 7 in reference to an unrelated theft case. Police said Dobritz allowed officers to enter her home, where they found Gregory L. Banfield Jr., 20, Kyle R. Detka, 20, and a juvenile male.

The officers noticed the smell of burned marijuana, and the men admitted they had “just smoked,” police said.

According to the report, officers also found “an infant child” in the home. The age of the child was not specified in the report.

Police said the home was “in a state of disarray” with “dozens of open” beer cans scattered across the floor and garbage lying around. The home smelled strongly of alcohol, garbage, cigarettes and marijuana, police said.

According to the report, Dobritz admitted “they had been partying there over the past few days.”

Police said officers found more beer cans upstairs, some of which were scattered around a mattress. There were also discarded cigarettes in the area, as well, police said. According to the report, a broken glass pipe with marijuana residue was found on a dresser along with dirty dishes coated with old food.

Police said the downstairs part of the home “was in an equally deplorable condition, with cigarettes scattered about the floor, open beer cans laying everywhere and garbage overflowing in piles.”

There were about two dozen open and empty bottles of alcohol in a downstairs closet, but a limited amount of food in the refrigerator, police said.

According to the report, a pair of brass knuckles were found under a couch cushion.

Dobritz, of 15 Midcrest Homes, Midland, Banfield, of 110 Meadow Ave., Ohioville, and Detka, of 105 Fairlane Drive, Ohioville, have all been charged by Midland police with endangering the welfare of a child, underage drinking and corruption of minors.

Banfield is charged with an additional count of possession of drug paraphernalia and Detka is charged with making repairs to a weapon.
