The Voice UK 2018 winner Ruti suffers BIG setback in race for Number One
THE VOICE UK winner Ruti Olajugbagbe has lost her lead in the race to this week's Number One, it has been reported - but could still end up in the Top 10.
The ITV show’s latest champion rocketed to the top of the iTunes chart when she triumphed on Saturday night with her cover of the Cranberries’ hit Dreams.
But her sales seem to have been front-loaded: whilst Dreams was confirmed on Monday by the Official Charts Company to be leading the charge to this week’s Number One at the midweek stage, it has already tumbled right the way down to No6 - this according to Music Week.
The official charts combine data from physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming platforms such as Spotify, TIDAL and Apple Music.
On iTunes, Ruti has slipped one place to No2 - behind Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s track One Kiss.

There are still two days to go before this week’s final rankings are announced on Friday, and Ruti will obviously be hoping that she doesn’t slip out of the Top 10 altogether before then.
On Monday she told Christine Bleakley on ITV’s Lorraine of her The Voice UK victory: “It was amazing. I didn’t expect it at all.
“I’ve said it so many times - I wasn’t expecting to get this far. And now I’ve won I’m still completely shocked!”
And of her strong start on the charts: “Again, I wasn’t expecting any of this.

“I couldn’t imagine this even a week ago. Being Number One… I just don’t know, i have no idea what’s going on.”
Last year’s winner Mo Jamil first entered the charts with Unsteady, which peaked at No78.
Dreams by Ruti is out now.
