KOCHI: AS the Tourism Department’s hop onhop off tourism bus service is yet to take off, the DTPC has joined hands with a startup company to provide a dedicated daily bus tour around Kochi. The first bus as part of the joint venture will be flagged off on Wednesday. Travelmate Solution has come forward to provide Kochi city tours for tourists.

“The startup was launched by a group of youngsters who like to contribute in the tourism sector,” said S Vijaykumar, Ernakulam DTPC secretary. “In the initial part of the venture, they will operate a bus in Kochi which will help tourists visit various attractive tourist destinations here. Later, they will expand the trip to Munnar and Alappuzha.” The bus will be flagged off by District Collector Mohammed Y Safirulla at the Darbar Hall ground on Wednesday. Children from the Janaseva Shishu Bhavan will make the first trip to the Kerala Historical Museum, the Kerala Folklore Museum and the Hill Palace.

From Thursday, the tourist bus will start at 8 am and visit various tourist destinations. Food would be served as part of the trip and there will be a dedicated guide explaining the history and culture of each destination. Tickets for the tour can be booked at 8893998888.
