Mercury soars to 40 degrees Celsius in several places in Maharashtra

As far as Mumbai was concerned, the Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius, while the Santacruz observatory recorded 34.8 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity was between 87 and 79 %. The districts of Ahmednagar, Jalgaon and Malegaon recorded 40 degrees Celsius, followed by Kolhapur and Solapur, which recorded 30 degrees Celsius.
The twin districts of Sangli and Satara, besides Pune, recorded 38 degree Celsius.
The towns of Aurangabad, Nanded and Parbhani recorded over 39 degrees Celsius.
In Vidarbha region, Akola and Brahmapuri recorded over 41 degrees Celsius, followed by Chandrapur town which recorded 40 degrees Celsius.
Wardha and Yavatmal districts recorded 39 degree Celsius, while the winter capital of Nagpur recorded 38 degrees Celsius.
The Regional Meteorological Observatory of IMD-Mumbai has forecast rain or thundershowers in isolated places in south Maharashtra and the Marathwada region.
