give relief to CNCP kids in school admission: HSCPCR

Chandigarh: Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Right urged the Education Department to provide general exemptions from documents to Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) residing in children homes so that they can appear for entrance exam for admission in private schools under rule 134A. In addition, the last date for submission of documents should be extended from April 10 so that more students can apply for the same. Jyoti Bainda, chairman of the Commission said that about 2,200 children are residing in children homes in the state. Many such children lack basic documents like Birth Certificate, Income Certificate and Haryana Domicile and become in-eligible to appear in entrance exam.

Haryana invites info on heritage sites

Chandigarh: Taking a unique initiative towards preserving the archaeological heritage of the state, Haryana Archaeology and Museums Department has invited information about 50 years old heritage sites like Haveli and Bawdis and other places of historical importance. A spokesman said that information has been invited about the type of heritage, name of village, town, tehsil and district in which the heritage is situated, the year of its construction alongwith the area. Besides, information has also been sought about the history of heritage and any incident related to it and old and new photographs of the heritage. Information about heritage sites and other places of historical importance could be sent to Director General, Haryana Archaeology and   Museums Department, Art and Design Building, Sector-10 and at email Id arch.museums1972@gmail.com.

 Haryana CM approves various proposals 

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved the proposal for the sale of 16 acres, five kanal and five marla land of village panchayat Ghatasher and three acres, six kanal and 15 marla land of village panchayat Talot of Nizampur block in district Mahendergarh to Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) on market rate of Rs 30 lakh per acre for the road or passage of Integrated Multi-Modal Logistic Hub (IMLH), Narnaul, said a spokesman.

BJP MP lauds Centre’s flagship schemes

Chandigarh: Ambala MP Rattan Lal Kataria said that the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched more than 100 flagship schemes in various sectors for the benefit of the people. He urged the people to make themselves aware about various welfare & flagship schemes of the Centre through this exhibition. Lauding the Government of India’s Flagship schemes such as Skill India, Start Up- Stand Up India, Mudra Yojana, the  MP said that the initiative would promote entrepreneurship amongst the people specially amongst the youth & women. He stated this while inaugurating a Special Exhibition “Naya Bharat Karke Rahenge "organized by Field Exhibition Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, at the Community Centre, village Dhanas here.

IAS, HCS given additional charge

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has given Rajeev Arora, IAS, Additional Chief Secreatary, Public Health Engineering, the additional charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Haryana Minerals Ltd., New Delhi, relieving Sunil Kumar Gulati of the said charge, with immediate effect. Nirmal Nagar, HCS, Managing Director, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham, is given the additional charge of Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Tosham vice Vijender Hooda, with immediate effect. The posting orders of Vijender Hooda will be issued later on.

National Safe Motherhood Day celebrated

Chandigarh: National Safe Motherhood Day was celebrated on the theme ‘Respectful Maternity Care’ in Civil Hospital at Sector 45 here in collaboration with Chandigarh Administration and Department of Community Medicine, School of Public Health, PGIMER. About 50 health service providers involved in providing maternal health care services including obstetrician, doctors, nurses, ANMs, LHV, and hospital attendants were sensitized regarding ‘Respectful Maternity Care’. Dr Madhu  Gupta, Additional Professor of Community Medicine, School of Public Health, PGIMER, explained that respectful maternal care had seven components of care and it was the right of pregnant women to receive respectful maternity care in the health facilities and to have a birth companion during labour.
