AIDWA activists hold demonstration

Members of All India Democratic Women’s Association staged protest demonstration in front of the residence of one Pavankumar Chatri at Rajivnagar under three town police station limits, here on Tuesday, demanding his arrest for allegedly cheating and marrying four women.

Originally belonging to Maharashtra the 30-year-old Pavankumar was staying here along with his parents and reportedly married Ilabai and another one in Maharashtra.

He was living with them separately there. In the meantime, he allegedly married Rani of Vijayawada and was trying marry a fourth one from Kerala, according to AIDWA district president Sabbani Latha.

Asked about the case Circle Inspector of Police A. Subashchandra Bose said a few months ago a case was registered against Pavankumar under Section 498A and it has been pending.

The AIDWA activists along with the victims told the police that they would file the case but they did not turn up till now,” he said.

“I have talked to Pavankumar who is away in Hyderabad. He promised to appear before police tomorrow morning.

“The accused, Pavankumar is a mechanic by profession. We will register a case and take action basing on the facts,” said he.
