Sindhu declared fit

World No. 3 and top seed P.V. Sindhu has been declared fit for the Open event at the Carrara Sports Arena 2, a top official confirmed. Sindhu, who got a bye in the first round, will begin against Andra Whiteside (Fiji). She has been nursing an ankle injury through the past fortnight.

Saina Nehwal will take on Elsie de Villiers (South Africa) in her opener.
