Civil surgeon Palamu Kalanand Mishra today said that no vaccine or antigen is 100 per cent safe.
There is always a risk in it. Mishra told this to the Pioneer when asked for his reaction on the fatality of four children.
Mishra said “Every vaccination has little bit risk in it. No doctor can deny this. This is an accepted fact.”
He then said13,730 children got vaccinations for six preventable diseases in Palamu till March this year and it all went safe and without any tragedy.
He further said Paton block which has 17 sub health centres and 2 primary health centres conducted the vaccination but no incident was reported of any mishap except for Loyenga where four children died for which the entire medical fraternity feels too shocked .
Medical sources here said contamination of vaccine cannot be ruled out.
Report of test of vaccine is expected to reach here in 70 days time.
