CWG 2018 Athletics Highlights: The hope for a medal in athletics for India were dashed on Wednesday when Tejaswin Shankar failed to position in the men’s high jump. He finished sixth in the competition after failing to clear the 2.27m mark in his three attempts of three jumps. This was the first Commonwealth Games for the 19-year-old high jumper. Another young Indian, Hima Das finished sixth in the women’s 400m final. She ran a personal best of 51.32 seconds but could not medal. She had finished third in the semifinal one and qualified for the final which will be held on Wednesday.
