 Four civilians including three teenagers were killed and an army jawan martyred during an anti-terrorist operation launched in Khudwani Wanpoh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district today.
The operation had been launched late last evening following specific information about the presence of ultras in the area.
Earlier, an injured army man Sepoy S. Gunakar Roy during initial gunfight with the trapped terrorists in the area, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Two more injured army personnel are undergoing treatment at Army’s Base Hospital in Srinagar.
Security sources informed that two to three terrorists including local LeT commander trapped in the area succeeded in escaping.
Authorities have ordered the closure of all schools and colleges in Kulgam district and parts of Anantnag district.
