Army officer's wife alleges assault, FIR registered

A case was registered against an for allegedly assaulting his wife, police said today.

The woman in her complaint to the police alleged that she was assaulted by the Lt after returning from a party on the night of April 4, they said.

A case was registered at Cantt Police Station on April 8 and investigation is on. No arrest has been made so far, the police said.

The woman alleged in her complaint about "violent nature" of the accused.

"Immediately after wedding I discovered his violent nature against certain issuse. I have been subjected to continuous verbal, mental and physical assault," she said.

The couple got married in November 2004 and has two daughters, aged 11 and eight. The family stays at Urban Village in cantt.

The complainant also alleged that the accused "doubted her character" and asked for divorce.

"He has always doubted my character.......recently he started asking for divorce," she said in her complaint.

Claiming that she feared for her life and well being of her daughters, the complainant said that her in-laws were privy to the whole incident but never helped her.
