Bengaluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau raids six government servants’ offices and residences

BENGALURU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous raid on 22 places belonging to six public servants across the state on Tuesday. According to the statement issued by the ACB, the accused officials are believed to have amassed disproportionate assets beyond their known sources of income.

The search is being conducted in three houses at Shirur Park, an office and a shop belonging to Mallikarjun N Savanur, assistant executive engineer of KPTCL in Hubballi; three houses at Shastri Nagar belonging to Parishwanath Varoor; assistant conservator of forests in Dharwad; and an office and two houses of Ravishankar, junior engineer of Taluq Panchayat in Kundapur. In Bengaluru, the ACB conducted raids of the office as well as the residence of G M Shivakumar, tax inspector of ward no.198, BBMP, Hemmigepura. In Mysuru, the police raided the house and office of TS Krishne Gowda, water inspector of Mysuru City Corporation.

In addition to this, the ACB sleuths conducted a search at the premises of Nagaraj, Panchayat Development Officer, Gurusiddapura Grama Panchayat, Jagaluru, Davanagere. The ACB stated that the cases against all the officials mentioned above have been registered at various ACB police stations across the state. The search and verification of documents continues to find out the source of income and other possible places for the search, the ACB said.
