Hyderabad High Court (File | EPS)

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the commissioner of Bapatla municipality in Guntur district to take steps ensuring removal of all hoardings, flexis and photos which were put up on the main streets in violation of the guidelines, within one week. While pulling up the commissioner for his failure to prevent erection of the above without permission. The court warned of summoning the officer if he failed to remove the above within a week’s time.

Justice MS Ramachandra Rao was passing this order in a petition filed by an advocate Thulasi complaining that TDP MLC A Satish Prabhakar has been misusing the public money towards erection of his huge photo on a clock tower in Bapatla and also for having hoardings, flexis and archies on the main streets of the municipality. The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the people were suffering with traffic problems due to illegal erection of hoardings, flexis and so on. Though representations were made to the authorities there was no response till date, he added.
