HYDERABAD: A 24-year-old farmer from Suryapet district attempted to end his life near the Chief Minister’s Camp Office at Begumpet here on Tuesday. The farmer identified as Saidulu (24), hailing from Tirumalagiri village in Suryapet district, had been facing financial crisis and was reportedly debt-ridden.

On Tuesday morning, Saidulu came to the CM’s camp office at Begumpet and asked the security personnel to allow him to meet the chief minister and seek help. However, he was not allowed to enter even the gate.
An upset Saidulu took out a pesticide bottle which he was carrying and consumed it. The security personnel immediately alerted the Punjagutta police and rushed him to Gandhi Hospital. The doctors said Saidulu was stable.
“The farmer had come to meet the Chief Minister from Tirumalagiri village. Saidulu claimed to have run into losses and has about Rs 9 lakh debt,’’ Punjagutta inspector S Ravindar said.
