Chairman, Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), Bharat Bhushan Bharti on Tuesday asserted that the Commission has not put on hold any recruitment process, refuting reports on “discontinuing ongoing recruitment process”.

Bharti said that the Commission is holding written examinations for filling up posts of Junior Engineer (JE) in various departments, which would continue upto April 13. He also made it clear that  recruitment process for all the posts advertised so far would continue.

The HSSC is under the dock for a 'cash for jobs scam' which was in vogue from the last 1.5 years and was being run by Commission’s officials, who lured job seekers in the name of good marks in personal interviews.

The flying squad of the Chief Minister had unearthed the cash forjob racket involving employees of the HSSC and other departments and "brokers".

The flying squad had arrested eight employees at the HSSC office, Sector 4 in Panchkula.

Following this, the Congress had demanded that an independent probe into the scam be entrusted to two sitting judges of Punjab and Haryana High court to be nominated by the Chief Justice of the

High Court while the INLD is demanding a CBI probe into the matter.

Reacting to the opposition’s demand, Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Krishan Kumar Bedi on Tuesday said that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal is quite serious on the HSSC issue.

Had anybody else been the Chief Minister, he would keep the matter confined to the files, but Manohar Lal himself came forward and instructed the authorities to take strict action on this issue, so that anybody could not spoil the future of the youth, Bedi added.
