Vigilance Dept officials receive tips from CBI

In order to provide maximum punishment through courts to the Government officers and employees caught accepting bribe and also to ensure that the vigilance officials act strongly against persons having disproportionate assets, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers  have given tips on investigation and court procedure to  the vigilance department officials at a workshop held at Vigilance Directorate, Dehradun on Tuesday.Director of vigilance ADGP Ram Singh Meena was also present  at the workshop.

CBI prosecution officer Abhishek Arora, inspectors SS Mayal and Tej Prakash Devrani shared their experiences about successful trap and conduct and monitoring of cases related to disproportionate assets besides  the precautions  to be taken in course of investigation.  Questions raised by the vigilance officials during the workshop were also addressed by the CBI team members who enlightened on how the premier central investigating agency functions.

SSP Vigilance Senthil Akdai Krishna Raj S and additional SPs, Dehradun and Haldwani sectors  besides other officers were present during the workshop. Director Vigilance Meena said that the people should inform the vigilance department promptly in case they come across any official demanding bribe.

 He also mentioned the toll free number – 1800-180-6666- that is available for the people to inform the vigilance department about any corrupt practice among the government officials. “People can also register complaints on What’s App number- 9456592300 if any government official demands bribe against the works to be done. Apart from this, complainant can register report on these numbers as vigilance directorate number -0135-2520321, SP vigilance sector Dehradun number-0135-2725424, 9456591894 and SP vigilance sector Haldwani (Nainital)-05946-246372, 9411112761. We would have zero tolerance for grafts the officers indulge in,” he added.

Meena further said that the department has opened account on facebook (fight against corruption Uttarakhand) too and a website www.vigilance.uk.gov.in  has also been developed. “One can send complaint on the department’s email id too,” he said.
