Captains lose third in a row, 9-3, to Dayton

After starting the season 4-0, the Captains have lost three in a row. Host Dayton trounced Lake County, 9-3, on April 11.

The Dragons jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, thanks in part to throwing errors by the Captains’ Tyler Friis and Jose Vicente. Starter Juan Hillman lasted two-thirds of an inning. He gave up four runs (none earned), on two hits and walked two.

Left fielder Todd Isaacs was 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI.

The series concludes at 7 p.m. April 12 at Dayton. Kirk McCarty makes his second start of the season for the Captains. He gave up three runs in 4 1/3 innings in his first start and took a no decision.
