AGRA: Three children and a 70-year-old woman were killed in two separate incidents in Farah area of Mathura district following heavy rain on Wednesday evening.
Police said that the first incident took place around 7.30pm in Jhuravi village where three children died after the tin roof of their one-room house collapsed. Their parents, who work as daily wage labourers, were not at home when the incident took place. The deceased have been identified as Mahesh (7), Vishakha (3) and Nattu (4).

In the second incident, Resham, 70, was killed when the shed over a water tap collapsed and fell over her. She succumbed to her injuries while she was on her way to the Agra hospital.

Hailstorm and heavy rain lashed several parts of the district for nearly 30 minutes, with minimum temperatures dropping to 22 degree Celsius.


Meanwhile, the city grappled with traffic snarls and power cut after the sudden thunder and hailstorm accompanied by heavy rain.
