FALL RIVER - Police are investigating a reported stabbing last weekend at Mitchell Heights.

The victim, a 49-year-old Providence man, was stabbed in the right bicep. He tied a sock around his wound and walked north on South Main Street to St. Anne's Hospital, Fall River police Detective John Robinson said.

The stabbing occurred just before 6 a.m. Sunday during a party in an apartment. The suspect, said to be a 54-year-old woman, is alleged to have brandished a knife and stabbed the victim after getting angry that he would not give her a ride home, Robinson said.

The suspect was also reportedly angry because nobody would serve her drinks at the party. She left the apartment after the stabbing, and is described as being 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dirty blond hair and weighing around 160 pounds, Robinson said.
