JoAnne Marie Sill, 69, of Springville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 9, 2018. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Springville Cemetery.
JoAnne was born April 29, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Jeanette (Ellison) Vernon. On May 14, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, she was united in marriage to Gerald Sill. She was employed by Rockwell, Nash Finch and Timberline Manufacturing before retiring in 2012. JoAnne was a member of the Springville United Methodist Church and Springville American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 331. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends, shopping, fishing, going to the casino, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her children, Tammie (Gary) Boren, Sherry (Leroy) Boland, Shelly (Daryl) Pearson and Gerald (Elyra) Sill Jr.; six grandchildren, Haley (Jon) Banes, Dustin Sill, Megan Pearson, Tara Bailey, Vincent Farley and Vanessa Farley; one great-grandchild, Madilynn Banes; and brother, Jim (Cynthia) Vernon.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in JoAnne's memory.
She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
