A data entry operator at a senior health official's office in Jagatsingpur district has been arrested by vigilance sleuths for allegedly accepting bribe to issue a disability certificate, a vigilance release said.
The accused data entry operator used to work in the Chief District Medical Officer's office.
Acting on a complaint, vigilance officers laid a trap yesterday and caught Arabinda Kanungo, the data entry operator in the CDMO's office while accepting the illegal gratification of Rs 3,000 from the woman, the release said.
The money was recovered and seized in the presence of witnesses.
A search was also conducted at Kanungo's house at Hazipur in Jagatsinghpur district, the release said.
