The Department of Excise says that all liquor shops in the island will be closed on April 13 and 14 due to the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The liquor shops will also be closed on April 29 and 30 due to Vesak Poya.
Meanwhile the Excise Department says that a special observation programme will be carries out during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festive season to prevent excise crimes and irregularities at establishments licensed by the excise department.
The programme will be carried out form April 9 to 15 covering the entire country.
