No Survivors After Fiery Plane Crash on Arizona Golf Course

At least five people are dead after a small airplane crashed on a golf course and burst into flames in Scottsdale, Arizona, police have said. 

A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson told Newsweek that it was a Piper PA-24 plane which crashed on the TPC Scottsdale Champions Golf Course shortly after taking off on Monday night (April 9). 

Video of the crash posted to social media shows the small aircraft in flames as smoke billows into the air.

The FAA spokesperson said local authorities told them five people were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash, however local media reports have said there were six passengers in the aircraft. 

The Scottsdale Police Department told local news website AZCentral.com there were no survivors. 

The FAA said no one on the ground was hit. However, there were several witnesses who watched the fiery crash play out. 

The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into the deadly crash.
