The Galleria campus, made up of multiple buildings, contains Legacy Church, an insurance company, title office, engineer firm and other businesses. On the backside of the property is the Estates at Estero River development.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office confirmed that two people were killed and that is was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public

One body clad in gray clothing could be seen on the ground in a parking lot behind the main Galleria building off Corkscrew Road not far from a white panel truck.

Another body could be seen sitting in a red truck, which also showed evidence of bullet holes and blown-out passenger side windows.

Residents next to the crime scene area said they heard about 18 shots at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday, both regular gunshots and blasts that seemed to be from a shotgun.

Sara Partlow, who lives nearby, said she saw LCSO cruisers drive through the area after shots were heard late Monday.

"We thought it was fireworks at first," she said.

The Estero Community Park remains open and the entrance to the park is not impacted, according to Lee County Communications Director Betsy Clayton.

The last homicide in Estero was in 2011 when Mary Ann Zarb, 64, was found strangled.

Shane Simpkins, who Zarb had hired to remodel her home, was found guilty of murdering the Estero grandmother and was sentenced to life in prison.

Simpkins' co-defendant, Christopher Neuberger, was sentenced to 10 years behind bars and 10 years probation.

In 2014 Naples police officer Luis Monroig committed suicide after shooting his live-in girlfriend Amy Young in their Estero home. Young, also a Naples police officer, was shot in the face and survived.
