
Cops ready for Bharat Bandh

BHUBANESWAR: In view of the call for Bharat Bandh given by anti-reservation groups on April 10 doing rounds on social media, police have beefed up security in the Capital.The members of Rudra Narayan Sena informed Bhubaneswar DCP that they were supporting the Bharat Bandh called from 6 am to 6 pm on April 10 to protest caste-based reservation. The members of the group claimed that some other organisations besides general category and OBC category associations will also join the bandh call.
“We are on alert after calls for Bharat Bandh started doing rounds on social media. About seven platoons police force will be deployed in the City to avoid any untoward incident,” Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Kumar Sahoo told The Express.Utkal University Vice Chancellor SM Patnaik said they have yet not taken any call regarding closing the institute. Chandrasekharpur DAV School officials said their centre will remain open on Tuesday.Centre has asked all the State Governments to be alert.
